Tivoli Building, Historic Victorian building in downtown Cheyenne, United States.
The Tivoli Building is a three-story Victorian structure in downtown Cheyenne featuring Queen Anne architecture with an oriel window and an octagonal ornamented turret. The edifice combines Chateauesque and Romanesque Revival elements beneath a hipped roof finished with pressed metal sheets.
Built in 1892 by the Richardson Brothers, this structure originally functioned as an eating establishment and wholesale distribution center for Pabst beer. The building has since transitioned through various commercial uses over the generations.
The building hosted the organizing committee for the first Cheyenne Frontier Days in 1897, establishing its connection to this important regional celebration that continues today.
The ground floor houses an active business, while upper levels contain office spaces accessible through the main entrance on West Lincolnway. Visitors should note that access to upper floors may be limited depending on current occupancy.
The structure blends rare architectural styles by combining Chateauesque and Romanesque Revival elements, setting it apart from other buildings of its era. This fusion of European inspirations is enhanced by the hand-finished metal sheets covering its roof.
