Boise Contemporary Theater, Professional theater in BODO District, Boise, US.
Boise Contemporary Theater is a professional stage in the BODO neighborhood housed in a renovated seed house. The black box space holds 231 seats arranged in nine rows, with vintage chandeliers still hanging from the walls.
The theater was established in 1997 and moved to its permanent home in 2000 following a major renovation. This move allowed the organization to grow and solidify its position as a regional arts institution.
The company presents contemporary works and experimental pieces that explore fresh ideas and voices. You will find productions here that push beyond mainstream theater and reflect what artists want to say today.
The box office is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM, with doors opening 30 minutes before performances. The location on Fulton Street is easy to find and accessible from downtown Boise.
The venue is the only nonprofit professional theater in a large surrounding area that focuses on new and experimental works. Over its history it has mounted more than 900 productions while introducing scripts by authors that had never been staged before.
