Osoyoos Lake, International lake in Okanagan Valley, Canada and Washington, United States.

Osoyoos Lake spans 11 miles in length with a 29.7-mile shoreline, divided between Canadian and American territories at the 49th parallel.

The lake formed 17,000 years ago when glacial retreat and subsequent meltwaters carved out the current lake system in the Okanagan Valley.

The name derives from sẁiẁs in the Okanagan language, reflecting the Indigenous understanding of the water formation at this location.

The water temperature reaches between 26 and 33 degrees Celsius in August, making it suitable for swimming and water activities.

Two sand and gravel spits extend east to west across the lake, with Haynes Point forming a natural division in the water body.
