Nááts'įhch'oh National Park Reserve

The reserve spans 4,850 square kilometers of mountainous terrain and protects the upper South Nahanni River watershed in Northwest Territories.

The Canadian government established Nááts'įhch'oh as the country's 44th national park on December 16, 2014, after negotiations with Sahtu Dene communities.

The name Nááts'įhch'oh comes from the Dene language, referring to Mount Wilson which translates to 'standing like a porcupine quill'.

Visitors reach the park by floatplane from Northwest Territories and Yukon communities, as no road access exists to this remote location.

The park forms a connected conservation area with Nahanni National Park Reserve, protecting 86 percent of the South Nahanni watershed.
