Sign Post Forest, Territorial historic roadside attraction in Watson Lake, Canada.
The Sign Post Forest spans several hectares and contains over 80,000 directional signs, plates, and markers from locations worldwide.
In 1942, Private Carl K. Lindley of the 341st Engineers initiated this collection by installing a sign pointing to his hometown of Danville, Illinois.
The forest demonstrates global connections through a collection of street signs, license plates, and personal markers added by international travelers.
Visitors can create their own signs at the Interpretive Centre, which operates from mid-May to mid-September with tools and materials provided.
A time capsule buried during the 50th anniversary celebration in 1992 remains sealed until 2042 beneath the forest of signs.
