Grande Prairie Transit, Public transportation system in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada
Grande Prairie Transit is the bus system serving the city through a network of regular routes connecting different neighborhoods. Towne Centre Mall functions as a central interchange point where passengers can transfer between various bus lines.
The system began operations in 1981 as the city's public transportation backbone. A major route restructuring in 2022 improved coverage across the city and made service more efficient.
The transit system demonstrates inclusion by providing free transportation for Canadian National Institute for the Blind cardholders and accommodating service animals.
Passengers can track buses in real time through the Where's My Ride app and have 120 minutes to complete transfers between routes. Free rides are available for blind cardholders and service animals are welcome on board.
In certain areas the network offers an On-Demand Service where passengers can request rides through a mobile app. This flexible option serves neighborhoods with lower demand outside of regular route schedules.
