Rutherford Library, University library at University of Alberta, Canada.
The Rutherford Library contains two connected buildings, North and South, featuring multiple floors dedicated to academic collections and study spaces.
The library opened on May 15, 1951, as the first free-standing library at the University of Alberta, named after Alexander Cameron Rutherford.
The Bruce Peel Special Collections in the basement of Rutherford South preserves rare books and manuscripts for academic research.
The library spaces are organized into three noise levels, with silent, quiet, and collaborative zones distributed across different floors.
Two treadmill desks in Rutherford North allow students to combine physical activity with their study sessions.
