Queen Elizabeth II Planetarium

The Queen Elizabeth II Planetarium in Coronation Park is a circular building with curved walls topped by a white dome that houses projection equipment. The interior space displays celestial objects and astronomical events on the domed ceiling above visitors.

This facility opened in 1960 and became the first public planetarium in Canada at that time. The opening followed a royal visit to Edmonton by Queen Elizabeth II.
