Roger Miller Museum, Biographical museum in Erick, Oklahoma, United States.
The Roger Miller Museum was a biographical museum in a former drugstore building from 1929 in the town of Erick, Oklahoma. It stood at the corner of Roger Miller Boulevard and Sheb Wooley Avenue, displaying personal belongings, stage costumes, and musical instruments of the performer.
The museum opened in 2004 to honor the career of Roger Miller, a country musician born in Erick. It closed in 2017 after more than a decade of welcoming visitors.
The museum displayed stage costumes, personal items, and instruments from the career of an artist who found success in both country music and Broadway theater. His musical Big River won several Tony Awards, which was very unusual for a country singer.
The museum was located at a visible street corner in the center of Erick, making it easy to spot on foot. Since it closed in 2017, it is worth checking ahead whether it has reopened or if another venue has taken its place.
The corner where the museum stood carries the names of two different musicians, both from Erick: Roger Miller and Sheb Wooley. It is rare for such a small town to have two streets named after musicians who each found national fame.
