Gathering Place, Recreational park in Tulsa, United States.
Gathering Place is a recreational park in Tulsa along the Arkansas River that covers 27 hectares with playgrounds, gardens, trails, and water installations. The grounds include two main buildings, Williams Lodge and ONEOK Boathouse, which house cafés, rest areas, and indoor spaces.
The park opened in 2018 with funding from the George Kaiser Family Foundation and represents the largest private donation to a public park in American history. Development of the site transformed a previously underused riverfront area into an accessible recreation space.
Local residents gather here throughout the year for concerts, art festivals, and educational activities. Families come together to spend time outdoors and participate in community events that bring different neighborhoods closer.
Visitors will find restrooms, cafés, and covered areas in the two main buildings spread across the grounds. Paths and facilities are designed to be accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
Trees removed during construction were incorporated into the Adventure Playground as part of the play structures. Water from the pond circulates through surrounding wetlands, creating a natural filtration system.
