Vesturi á Eiðinum Stadium, Football stadium in Vágur, Faroe Islands

Vesturi á Eiðinum Stadium is a football venue in Vágur on the southern island of Suduroy with capacity for 3,000 spectators, including 330 seated places. The facility features a standard grass pitch and sits alongside other sports amenities in the community.

Vágur's first pitch west of Eiðinum was laid out in 1924; before that, matches were played on the Sandin. Vágs Bóltfelag was founded on 5 June 1905, and a handball pitch followed at Eiðinum in 1948. VB merged with Sumba in 2005, and FC Suðuroy was founded on 1 January 2010, with the first team playing its home matches west of Eiðinum.

VB, the village's football association, was founded on 5 June 1905, and its name survives in VB-húsið, the 1978 clubhouse beside the pitch. The ground is shared with FC Suðuroy, formed on 1 January 2010 from the merger of VB Vágur and Sumba, and the club also plays home matches at Krossi in Sumba.

The pitch lies west of Vágur, with Vágshøll sports hall and VB-húsið beside it; the water Vatnið and its encircling path are just east of the ground. The site is open-air, so expect wind and rain typical of Suðuroy. In February 2010 it was the only pitch in Suðuroy meeting the requirements for top-division matches.

The first football pitch west of Eiðinum was laid out in 1924; before that, Vágur's players used the field at Sandinum. A handball pitch added in 1948 no longer exists. The ground sits a short walk from Vágseiði and the 200-metre cliff Skúvanes.
