Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre, Science and culture museum complex in Salmiya, Kuwait
The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre is a museum complex with multiple themed sections connected by covered walkways and open courtyards. The buildings house displays on natural history, space exploration, and other knowledge areas presented in contemporary exhibition spaces.
This facility opened in 2018 as one of the largest museum projects built in a single phase. It was created as part of Kuwait's effort to expand and share its cultural heritage with the public.
The natural world section displays ancient life forms and their environments, showing how they evolved across vast periods of time. Visitors can imagine what Earth looked like in previous eras as they view fossils and skeletal remains.
The complex has multiple entrances and sections that are easy to navigate on foot between one another. A single ticket grants access to all areas and museums during operating hours.
The space section features a working-scale replica of the International Space Station and a large planetarium dome for exploration. These elements allow visitors to engage with space exploration without leaving Earth.
