Bayan Palace, Main governmental palace in Bayan, Kuwait

Bayan Palace is a governmental building in Kuwait City that spreads across a large site and houses multiple compounds, an events hall, a library, and various reception areas. The grounds also include specialized facilities designed for international conferences and top-level meetings.

Bayan Palace opened in 1986 to host the fifth conference of the Arab League. The Emiri tent on its grounds was erected in 1991, after Kuwait's liberation, not in 1987. The palace was built on a site that had served as Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's summer residence and spring retreat.

The palace grounds blend contemporary forms with Islamic design elements that reflect Kuwait's architectural development over time. Visitors can observe this fusion of traditional and modern styles while moving through the different sections of the complex.

The palace lies in the Bayan area of Hawalli Governorate, with the international conference centre attached to the main building. The Emiri tent covers about 0.35 hectares within the grounds, and the palace mosque, under a golden dome, holds 1,200 worshippers. The complex is an official residence and conference venue, so access is tied to official business rather than general visiting.

The grounds can accommodate more than 50 heads of state when they gather for international meetings. This capacity makes it one of the largest conference venues in the region for such events.
