Kuwait Scientific Center

The Kuwait Scientific Center is a waterfront science facility in Kuwait City with multiple sections including an aquarium, discovery hall, and IMAX cinema. The complex houses exhibitions about natural science and displays aquatic environments alongside educational film screenings.

The facility opened in 2000 after four years of construction, initiated by Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as a gift to the population. The project emerged from a desire to provide a modern educational center for learning and discovery.

The center displays modern architecture with Islamic design elements and ceramic mosaics reflecting Kuwaiti traditions. The design blends contemporary forms with local cultural references throughout the building.

The center is open during daytime and evening hours with extended times on weekends, allowing visitors time to explore all sections. Groups can book special programs, and directional guidance is available throughout the facility.

The aquarium displays desert, marine, and coastal habitats that are typical for the region, with many species from the Arabian Gulf. These collections allow visitors to experience local aquatic diversity up close.
