Fontvieille Park and Princess Grace Rose Garden, Dual park complex in Fontvieille, Monaco.
Fontvieille Park and Princess Grace Rose Garden form a combined 4-hectare green space filled with Mediterranean plants, olive trees, pines, cypress trees, and around 4,000 rose bushes of different varieties. Pathways wind through planted areas and past a lake, with interactive terminals providing information about the flora.
The rose garden was established in 1984 by Prince Rainier III as a memorial to Princess Grace, honoring her memory through horticulture. The site expanded over time into an important botanical collection for the region.
The sculpture trail throughout the park displays contemporary artworks like the Cavalleria Eroica by Arman and a bronze fist by César. These pieces blend into the grounds and create an open-air art experience for visitors.
The parks are open daily from dawn until dusk with free entry, making them accessible for leisurely walks at any time. Well-maintained pathways throughout make it easy to navigate and explore all areas.
The collection features 315 different rose varieties, including specific breeds named after members of the Grimaldi Royal Family and international celebrities. These special roses tell a quiet story that many visitors overlook while walking through.
