Fließ, Municipality in Landeck district, Austria
Fließ is a municipality in Landeck district located about 5 kilometers south of Landeck at an elevation of 1,073 meters in the upper Inn Valley. The territory spans roughly 48 square kilometers and is defined by the surrounding mountain slopes.
The settlement has roots in Roman times and was formally established as a village in the 6th century in the Tyrol region. A major fire in 1933 destroyed much of the built area and prompted extensive rebuilding that reshaped the community.
The settlement is divided into nine separate hamlets, each shaping the local character and daily life in the area. This scattered structure is still visible in how the community spreads across the landscape today.
The location is accessible via the main road through the Inn Valley and serves as a local administrative center for the surrounding area. Visitors should note that services are typical for an alpine village, with amenities concentrated in the central hamlet.
The rebuilding after the 1933 fire created a relatively modern layout for its time, still visible in the village structure today. This makes the settlement an interesting example of early 20th-century alpine community planning.
