Vogelkarspitze

Vogelkarspitze is a mountain summit in the Karwendel range that rises to 2,522 meters and marks the natural border between Tyrol in Austria and Bavaria in Germany. The peak features steep slopes and narrow ridges that are typical of this mountain chain.

The mountain paths around this summit were developed during the early mountaineering movement of the 20th century as Alpine climbing grew in popularity. These routes have been maintained since and form part of the region's important climbing tradition.

A narrow couloir at the summit leads to a broad ridge where hikers must sometimes navigate unmarked paths. Surprisingly, a small cross stands at the peak, something many visitors do not expect to find there.
