Annaberg-Lungötz is a rural municipality in Austria located in a valley in the Hallein region and surrounded by mountain slopes. The settlement combines two village centers with traditional architecture and spreads across about 61 square kilometers at an elevation of roughly 777 meters (2,550 feet).
The municipality grew originally as a farming settlement in the mountains and later became a destination for visitors seeking fresh mountain air. In 1896, the area was administratively assigned to the Hallein region, establishing the structure that exists today.
