Badener Hütte is a mountain refuge located at 2,608 meters elevation in the Venediger Massif within Hohe Tauern National Park. It sits at a transit point offering views of Austria's highest peaks and serves mountaineers as a rest and supply station.
The refuge was constructed in 1911 and has served as a connection point along historic mountaineering routes through the Eastern Alps. It has proven itself a reliable base for expeditions for over a century.
The hut embodies the tradition of Austrian mountaineers who find shelter and sustenance here. It serves as a meeting point for people devoted to high mountain exploration and respectful outdoor practices.
The facility accommodates 53 guests and is accessible from early July through mid-September. Access is primarily by foot via several established hiking routes that climb from the valleys below.
A small mountain lake sits just five minutes walk from the hut, providing a refreshing contrast to the surrounding rocky peaks. Nearby summits like Kristallwand and Großvenediger create a dramatic backdrop for the location.
