Cinema Paradiso is a movie theater at Rathausplatz with three modern screening halls that offers daily showings of international films and Austrian productions. The halls feature current projection technology and provide a wide range of film genres and countries.

The group Cinema Paradiso began showing films in 1994 with the open-air "Film am Dom" on Domplatz. From 1996 it occasionally screened films in the disused C2 cinema at Rathausplatz, drawing about 1,500 visitors and prompting the wish for a permanent venue. The old cinema was rebuilt in 2001–2002 for roughly 900,000 euros, and the Cinema Paradiso opened on 29 November 2002 as Lower Austria's first program cinema.

The theater focuses on independent and European films, creating an important destination for film enthusiasts in the city. Visitors find programming that goes beyond commercial blockbusters, featuring both local and international productions.

The cinema sits at Rathausplatz in St. Pölten, in the rooms of the former C2 cinema. The bar attached to the cinema operates as a café during the day. The three halls differ in size: the classic hall has 118 seats, the Beisl-Kino 60 seats where eating and drinking are allowed during screenings, and Club 3 has 76 seats that can be lowered beneath the stage.

During summer months, the square in front of the theater transforms into an outdoor cinema showing current releases under the stars. This seasonal activity creates a special setting for film lovers and makes creative use of the public plaza.
