Schloss Essling

Schloss Essling is a castle in Donaustadt in Vienna's 22nd district, located on Esslinger Hauptstrasse and displaying a rectangular structure with traditional vaulted ceilings. Today the building operates as a restaurant and event venue, with space for up to 50 guests.

The castle was founded in 1287 by the Lords of Eslarn and passed to Baron Teufel in 1579. After suffering severe damage during the Battle of Aspern in 1809, the building was reconstructed.

The restaurant inside the castle maintains Austrian cooking traditions through seasonal dishes prepared in an open kitchen. Visitors can watch how local and seasonal ingredients flow into international cuisine.
