The Domenig-Haus at Favoritenstraße 118 is a reinforced concrete building whose facade of curved stainless steel plates bulges and flows, appearing squeezed between its neighbours. Inside, straight lines are rare and many details were improvised on site rather than planned. The facade and the two artistically designed upper floors are protected as a monument.

Günther Domenig built the house for the Zentralsparkasse und Kommerzialbank Wien between 1975 and 1979, when the U1 station Keplerplatz had just opened and the street became a pedestrian zone. The bank sold it in July 2007 to the Echo-Verlag; after Echo Sportmedia took over in 2008, exhibition rooms moved to the basement. A further change of owner forced the gallery out in 2013, and since February 2022 a Turkish-Levantine restaurant chain has used several levels, including the two protected floors.

The building's name comes from its nickname, "Haus mit dem Knick" (house with the bend), referring to the kink in its curved stainless-steel facade. Since February 2022 a Turkish-Levantine restaurant chain has run a branch across several levels, including the two heritage-protected upper floors. The Domeniggalerie, the exhibition space once housed here, moved in autumn 2014 to the Ankerbrot factory site at Puchsbaumgasse 1c, Stiege 5.2, still run by the Kulturverband Favoriten under Gertrud Hopf.

The building is located between Keplerplatz subway station and Viktor-Adler-Platz, making it easily accessible by public transport. Visitors can reach the site on foot during the day, as it sits in a well-traveled section of the street.

The architecture displays biomorphic forms resembling bones, tendons, and scales, transforming technical components into organic structures. This gives the bank building an unusual character that clearly distinguishes it from conventional financial institutions.
