Gosauzwang, Historical brine conduit bridge in Hallstatt, Austria.
The Gosauzwang Bridge stands 38 meters high and carries a brine pipeline across the Gosaubach stream and Pass-Gschütt road between Hallstatt and Gosau.
Built between 1755 and 1758, the bridge formed part of the first inter-city raw material pipeline in modern industrial history, transporting salt brine from Hallstatt to Ebensee.
The bridge represents the salt mining heritage of the Salzkammergut region and stands within the Hallstatt-Dachstein UNESCO World Heritage area.
The bridge structure underwent modernization in 2017, replacing its steel framework with aluminum components to maintain its operational status for brine transport.
Five slender limestone pillars support the 133-meter-long bridge, divided into six sections with spans ranging from 16 to 21 meters.
