Konstanzer Hütte, Mountain refuge in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria.
Konstanzer Hütte is a mountain shelter in the Verwall Mountains at 1,688 meters elevation, where three valleys meet. The facility sits at the edge of an upland moor and provides sleeping space for about 67 guests with meals.
The original shelter was founded in 1885 but suffered severe damage from a landslide in 1988. It was then rebuilt 700 meters away on safer ground at the forest edge.
The hut is run by the German Alpine Club and reflects Alpine traditions through its hospitality and local food offerings.
The hut is usually open from June to September and offers overnight stays and daytime meals. Visitors should note that it is a popular starting point for mountain hikes and can get busy in good weather.
Its location at the edge of an upland moor makes it a central hub for climbers aiming to reach five peaks, including Kuchenspitze. This plateau setting offers unusual plants and views not found in typical mountain terrain.
