Jubiläumswarte, Observation tower in Ottakring, Austria.

Jubiläumswarte is a concrete tower in Ottakring that rises 31 meters above the ground with a circular observation platform reached by an external spiral staircase of 183 steps. From this viewpoint at 480 meters above sea level, visitors can see Vienna's rooftops and the surrounding woodlands.

A wooden tower was built in 1898 to mark the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph I's reign but fell during a storm. It was later replaced by an iron structure, which eventually became the concrete tower that stands today.

The tower sits near the Vienna Forest School and serves as a place where visitors can learn about the woodlands surrounding the city. People use this spot to observe and understand the forests and landscape that stretch beyond Vienna's edges.

The climb up the external staircase is straightforward, and regular resting points allow you to save energy and enjoy the views along the way. Wear comfortable shoes and take care in bad weather, as the steps can become slippery.

The spiral staircase includes several intermediate platforms that allow visitors to pause regularly and enjoy changing views of the surrounding landscape. These rest stops make the climb less tiring and let you experience the view from different heights.
