Tschaggunser Mittagspitze, Mountain summit in Tschagguns, Austria.
Tschaggunser Mittagspitze is a peak in the Ratikon range, part of the Central Eastern Alps in Vorarlberg, rising to 2,168 meters. It offers access from multiple sides and borders lake areas and forests at lower elevations.
The name comes from its geographic position relative to Tschagguns village, referring to the midday sun reaching its highest point over the peak. The mountain has been explored and used by local climbers over many decades.
The summit sits along traditional walking routes that link surrounding valleys and have drawn generations of hikers. Local people use this path seasonally and share knowledge about the best times to make the ascent.
Access to the peak starts from the Latschau parking area, and the route requires good mountain experience and proper gear. The place is best visited during weather with good visibility to safely navigate the path and enjoy the views.
Tobelsee lies near the ascent route and shows striking reflections of morning light on its frozen surface during winter. The snow-covered terrain displays clear tracks left by chamois that live in this area.
