Palace of Ludwig Viktor, City palace and theatre in Innere Stadt, Austria
The Palace of Ludwig Viktor stands at Schwarzenbergplatz 1, featuring tall arched windows flanked by Corinthian columns and six stone statues of Austrian figures.
Built between 1863 and 1866 by architect Heinrich von Ferstel, this palace was commissioned for Emperor Franz Joseph I's younger brother, Archduke Ludwig Viktor.
The palace contains the Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz, which functions as one of the stages for Vienna's renowned Burgtheater performing arts venue.
The building houses the Federal Ministry of Education Science and Research, with business premises occupying the basement and ground floor levels.
The monumental vestibule presents nine domes and a double open stairway with marble balustrade, leading to a two-story festive hall.
