Villa Rauhenstein, 19th century villa in Baden, Austria

Villa Rauhenstein is a historicist villa on Helenenstraße in the Weikersdorf district of Baden, at the foot of the Rauhenstein castle ruin. Master builder Josef Schmidt erected the multi-storey building in 1894 for Anna Löwy; it was later converted into apartments.

The villa was built in 1894 by master builder Josef Schmidt for Anna Löwy. It later belonged to the composer Hugo Wiener (1904–1993). After his death, his widow Cissy Kraner sold it and it was converted into apartments.

The property carries architectural significance as it represents the late 19th century construction methods and social status of the Baden region.

Villa Rauhenstein stands on Helenenstraße in the Weikersdorf district, at the foot of the Rauhenstein ruin. The building is now divided into flats and is not open to visitors; it can be viewed from the street. The path up to the ruin starts nearby, so the spot works as a starting point for the climb.

The villa's later owner was the composer Hugo Wiener (1904–1993), known for cabaret and film music; after his death his widow, the actress and singer Cissy Kraner, sold the building, which was then divided into flats. The house itself was commissioned in 1894 by Anna Löwy from the builder Josef Schmidt.
