Museum of Young Art, Art museum in Innere Stadt, Vienna, Austria
The Museum of Young Art displays contemporary works including paintings, photography, video installations, and digital media by emerging European artists with pieces created after 2000. The collection focuses on creations from young talents who are early in their artistic careers.
The institution was founded in 2005 by art historian Dr. Kolja Kramer and was the first museum worldwide dedicated exclusively to 21st-century art by young creators. In 2010 it relocated to the Palais Schönborn-Batthyány in the Freyung district.
The museum gives emerging artists from many countries a platform to show their work without needing an established reputation. Visitors can see pieces from artists just starting their careers, representing a broad range of backgrounds across Europe.
The museum occupies the Palais Schönborn-Batthyány, which is easy to reach and situated in the historic Freyung district. Plan enough time to explore the different media formats and installations displayed across the gallery rooms.
The Habsburg family presented the institution with the Flame of Peace award in 2014 for its role in fostering global exchange through contemporary art forms. This honor highlights the international reach of the platform.
