Teufelsspitze, Mountain summit in Granatspitz Group, Austria
Teufelsspitze rises to an elevation between 2813 and 2848 meters at the border of Salzburg and East Tyrol within the Granatspitz mountain range.
The mountain received its first documented ascent on July 21, 1926, when climbers W. Brandenstein, Henriette Hurych, and F. Waldmann reached the peak via southern route.
The mountain represents a geographical boundary between two Austrian states, connecting the communities of Matrei in East Tyrol and Mittersill in Salzburg.
Climbers access the summit through various routes, including the southern ridge with UIAA grade III difficulty and the northeast ridge known as Teufelskante.
The mountain features multiple climbing paths, including an approach from Riegelturmscharte at 2670 meters and alternative routes through Schoppmanntörl and Finsterkar.
