Established in 1908, this psychiatric facility began with three attendants and six patients living in tents while constructing the first permanent structures.
The hospital transformed from an institutional facility into a self-sufficient community where patients participated in farming and agricultural activities.
The site contains multiple wards, a recreation hall, agricultural facilities, and a cricket oval that were built throughout different construction phases.
The first structure completed at Morisset Hospital was a jetty, followed by a dam, indicating the importance of water access for the facility.
