Glenlee, Menangle Park, Colonial estate in Menangle Park, Australia

Glenlee is a colonial estate in Menangle Park with a homestead, multiple farm buildings dating to the 1800s, and plantings on elevated land overlooking the Nepean River. The property spans several acres and preserves both the original agricultural structures and a modern olive grove alongside them.

A Scottish settler named William Howe received a land grant in 1818 and built the homestead using convict labor by 1824. The place then became an important dairy operation in the region.

The estate reflects its past as a working dairy farm, where the buildings and fields still show how people organized their daily labor and farm routines. You can see in the layout how the family lived alongside their agricultural work.

The site sits on elevated ground with river views and is reached via local roads. Visitors should wear good walking shoes since the land is uneven and paths run through various parts of the historical property.

This property produced the Sun and Thistle butter brand, which became the first dairy product from New South Wales to be exported to England. That shipment brought the farm recognition far beyond the local area.
