Glenlee, Menangle Park

The Glenlee estate includes a homestead, surrounded by 19th-century farm buildings and original plantings on elevated ground near the Nepean River.

William Howe, a Scottish settler, established Glenlee in 1818 with a land grant of 1,214 hectares and constructed the homestead using convict labor by 1824.

The property demonstrates the transition from early colonial agriculture to successful dairy production, marking a shift in Australian farming practices.

The estate maintains 45 acres of land with preserved historical structures and an agricultural landscape that includes modern olive groves.

Glenlee produced the Sun and Thistle butter brand, which became the first dairy product exported from New South Wales to England.
