Mount Annan Botanic Garden, Botanical garden and seed vault in New South Wales, Australia.
Mount Annan Botanic Garden is a botanical garden in New South Wales that covers rolling terrain with rolling hills, native plants, and bodies of water throughout. The site includes research facilities, walking paths, and conservation zones dedicated to Australian flora.
The garden began in 1988 as the native plant section of the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Since its start, it has focused on protecting and studying Australian plants that are found naturally in the country.
The gardens sit on Dharawal Country and honor this connection through dedicated spaces where visitors learn about Indigenous relationships with the land. These areas help people understand how plants and culture are deeply connected here.
The gardens open daily from early morning until sunset with no entry fee and parking near the main entrance. Wear comfortable shoes and allow plenty of time to walk through the different areas at a relaxed pace.
Within the grounds sits the Australian PlantBank, a research facility that stores and examines seeds from rare and endangered plants. This bank works to protect plant species from disappearing forever.
