Old Jewish Cemetery, Sarajevo, Jewish cemetery on Trebević mountain, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The cemetery stretches across 31,160 square meters on the slopes of Trebević mountain, containing 3,850 stone markers and monuments of varied architectural designs.
Established in 1630 by Sephardic Jews during Ottoman rule, the cemetery later incorporated Ashkenazi Jewish burials following their arrival with the Austro-Hungarian administration.
The cemetery features traditional Jewish burial practices through its Genizah vault for damaged religious texts and monuments adorned with seven-branched menorahs.
The site underwent complete mine clearance in 1996 after the Bosnian War and now functions as both a memorial ground and a National Monument.
Four dedicated monuments stand within the grounds to commemorate victims of fascism, including specific memorials for both Sephardi and Ashkenazi communities.
