Description
The Karadzozbey Mosque is a structure in central Mostar with a large dome carried by eight arches and resting on an octagonal drum base. The interior displays elaborate geometric patterns and inscriptions that decorate the walls and vaults throughout.
History
The structure was built in 1557 under the direction of the renowned architect Mimar Sinan during a period of Ottoman architectural expansion across the Balkans. It represents one of the important legacies from this era in the region.
