Natore District

Natore District is an administrative area in northern Bangladesh that borders several other districts around it. The region is shaped by rivers and wetlands that influence its landscape and geography.

The area was administratively linked to Rajshahi for a long time before being reorganised into its own administrative unit. This shift marked an important change in how the northern region was governed.

The population practises different faiths, and this diversity shows in the buildings and worship places you see throughout the region. You notice this religious variety in daily life and in the different sacred sites that shape the landscape.

Visitors will mostly see farmland with some major industrial facilities related to sugar production. The best way to explore is to travel through the villages and agricultural areas to observe the local economy at work.

A large wetland spreads partly across the district, forming a special natural habitat found nowhere else in the region. This watery landscape is one of the most important of its kind in the country and draws attention to the area's ecology.
