Lambert de Lamberts, a merchant, constructed the château in 1776 to replace a small hunting lodge from the seventeenth century on the same location.
The municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert currently uses the château for exhibitions and community gatherings, maintaining its role as a cultural center.
Visitors can reach the château by following the Woluwe stream valley, which leads directly to the building and its surrounding parkland.
The property belonged to Finance Minister Jules Malou in 1853, whose name remains attached to both the château and its surrounding park.
