Castle of Corroy-le-Château, Medieval castle in Corroy-le-Château, Belgium.
Castle of Corroy-le-Château is a medieval fortress with a pentagon shape and seven round towers connected by high walls. The entire structure is surrounded by a water-filled moat about 20 meters (65 feet) wide.
The castle was founded in 1270 and remained under the ownership of the same family for many centuries. In 2010 the property passed to a Belgian heritage conservation association.
Inside you can see a collection of antique timepieces and marble decorations that shape how the rooms look. The painted ceilings were created by Belgian artist Jean Robie in the 1800s and show the artistic style of that era.
Guided tours are available from May through September on Sundays and public holidays, with additional Saturday visits during July and August. It is best to check opening times beforehand since these can vary depending on the season.
The dining room features white Carrara marble panels separated by classical columns, inspired by designs found in Spanish royal residences. This arrangement gives the room a distinctive formal character that stands out among the castle's other spaces.
