The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp displays paintings, sculptures, and drawings from the 14th to 20th centuries in a neoclassical building.
Napoleon founded the museum in 1810, starting with artworks from the Antwerp Guild of Saint Luke, leading to its official opening in 1890.
The museum collection includes 141 works from Florent van Ertborn's bequest, featuring masterworks by Jan van Eyck and Rogier van der Weyden.
The museum opens Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, Thursday until 22:00, and weekends from 10:00 to 18:00.
Bronze figures of Pheme with horse-drawn chariots and seven rondel medallions of artists decorate the exterior of the building.
