Kasteel van 's Herenelderen

Kasteel van 's Herenelderen is a U-shaped limestone and brick structure with three floors and cross-frame windows. The building is surrounded by a continuous water-filled moat with corner towers.

The castle came to the Van Renesse family through marriage in the early 16th century after belonging to the Van Hamal family. It has remained in their possession ever since.

The castle displays a blend of architectural styles added across different centuries. Visitors can observe how late Gothic, Baroque, and classical details shape the facades and reflect the craftsmanship of different periods.

The building stands opposite Saint Stephen's Church on Sint-Stefanusstraat and serves as a private residence. Visitors can view the outer facade and moat from the street.

The agricultural buildings display Baroque architecture with two corner towers and heraldic shields. These shields feature the Renesse-Bocholtz family coat of arms and stand out for their detailed heraldic work.
