The Belfry of Bruges rises 83 meters high with an octagonal upper stage, featuring 47 bells that ring throughout the city center.
Construction began in 1240, and after a fire in 1280 destroyed the original structure, multiple rebuilding projects modified the tower through centuries.
The carillon bells regulate daily life in Bruges by marking time, announcing events, and performing musical compositions through a hand keyboard system.
Visitors can climb 366 steps to reach the observation platform, with entrance fees of 15 euros for adults and 13 euros for children.
The structure displays an eastward lean of 87 centimeters and contains 26 original bells cast by Joris Dumery following the 1741 fire.
