Château de Beaumont, Liège, Neoclassical château in Sclessin, Belgium

Château de Beaumont is a three-story neoclassical residence in Sclessin featuring brick and limestone construction with a horseshoe-shaped layout and wrought iron railings. Pilasters accent the five-bay main facade.

A canon of Saint Lambert Cathedral commissioned architect Jacques-Barthélemy Renoz to build this residence in 1772. It was created as a private dwelling for the wealthy clergy of the 18th century.

The interior preserves complete neoclassical design elements from the 18th century, with an octagonal entrance hall decorated in black and white tiles. These details reflect the refined taste of the period.

The building sits on Rue Côte d'Or and can be viewed from street level, though the hillside location south of the Meuse affects access. Modern pathways to the facade make it relatively easy to explore from the outside.

The building includes high cellars with blue stone decorative elements designed to compensate for the hillside location, with several doors integrated into the basement level. This cellar design shows practical construction that balances topography with living comfort.
