Villa Carpentier, Art Nouveau villa in Ronse, Belgium
Villa Carpentier is an Art Nouveau residence in Ronse featuring an asymmetrical facade of carved blue and white stone topped with red tiles and decorative lead details. The three-hectare estate displays the carefully planned design of this residential property with its defining features.
Built between 1899 and 1903, textile industrialist Valère Carpentier commissioned designer Victor Horta to create this country residence for his family. This residence emerged during the height of the Art Nouveau movement in Europe.
Innenräume zeigen Art-Nouveau-Elemente wie Buntglasfenster von Raphaël Évaldre und Wandmalereien von Albert Ciamberlani, die das Handwerk dieser Zeit widerspiegeln.
The estate can only be visited by prior arrangement through the Ronse tourism office for guided group tours. It is advisable to book well in advance to secure a visiting slot.
Horta designed every detail of the property, from the building plans through the shell-shaped garden paths to the furnishings and fixtures. This comprehensive artistic control made the property a complete artistic statement from his hand.
