National Park Bosland

National Park Bosland is the largest forested area in Flanders, featuring pine forests, heathlands, and wetland areas. The diverse landscapes support a wide range of plants and animals across the territory.

The area received official national park status in October 2023 following a selection process where regional groups submitted proposals for protection. This designation represents a turning point in how the forest landscape is managed and safeguarded.

The park offers activities designed for children, including treasure hunts and guided expeditions that create playful ways to explore nature. These experiences help young visitors develop a connection with the natural environment.

Visitors enter the park without entrance charges and can find parking near the main areas. Well-maintained trails allow for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding through different parts of the landscape.

Throughout the park, children encounter specially crafted wooden hammocks hidden in the forest that can be discovered during treasure hunts. These unexpected rest spots offer a playful surprise for young visitors exploring the natural surroundings.
