Parc de la Serna

Parc de la Serna is a park with three ponds connected by walking paths covered in dolomite gravel. The grounds feature a diverse mix of trees, including beeches and chestnuts, spread across the woodland.

Excavations in 1880 revealed an ancient cemetery dating to Gallo-Roman times, built directly over an earlier Celtic burial site. This discovery shows that people have inhabited this location for many centuries.

The park serves as a venue for medieval celebrations where visitors witness historical performances and local traditions coming to life. These annual gatherings create moments where the past feels present and connected to the community today.

The park has jogging trails and a dedicated area for dog training and exercise. Wear sturdy shoes since the paths vary in surface and some sections near the ponds can be wet or muddy.

In spring between late April and early May, the forest floor becomes carpeted with wild bluebells across large sections of the park. This seasonal transformation creates a striking natural display that most visitors find unexpected.
