The building features a monumental three-level facade with arched windows, Tuscan pilasters, and decorative wrought iron elements.
Following a fire in 1897, architect Ferdinand Dierkens rebuilt the complex to create a cooperative store and community gathering spaces.
The structure embodies Belgian socialist movements with golden inscriptions and an emblematic rooster representing workers' rights.
The facility contains meeting halls and multipurpose spaces available for local associations and community organizations.
A rooster stands on the facade alongside a historic inscription stating 'Eight hours work, eight hours leisure, eight hours rest'.
