Trigrad Gorge

The vertical marble cliffs of Trigrad Gorge extend up to 350 meters high, forming a narrow passage that ranges from 100 to 300 meters in width along its path.

The limestone formations within Trigrad Gorge developed over millions of years through the continuous erosion process of the Trigradska River carving through the marble rocks.

The Devil's Throat Cave within Trigrad Gorge holds numerous Bulgarian folk tales about dragons and mythical creatures that once inhabited its underground chambers.

Visitors can reach Trigrad Gorge by taking a 3-4 hour drive from Sofia International Airport through the mountains, with regular guided tours available from April through September.

The Trigradska River disappears into the Devil's Throat Cave and resurfaces 530 meters later as a karst spring, creating an underground waterfall within the cave system.
