Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum in Varna displays ship models, navigation instruments, naval uniforms, and historical documents across its exhibition space. The collection covers centuries of seafaring history and maritime technology.

Founded in 1923, the museum traces the Bulgarian navy from its establishment in 1879 through major 20th century conflicts. It preserves the country's maritime military legacy across different historical periods.

The museum preserves Bulgarian naval identity through displays of torpedoes, mines, and cannons that show how the country defended its waters over time.

The museum is located near the railway station in central Varna and is easy to reach on foot from nearby attractions. Plan at least an hour to see the main exhibits comfortably.

The museum houses the preserved Drazki Motor Torpedo Boat, which saw action during both World Wars and remains one of the few intact vessels from that era. Walking around this real warship gives visitors a tangible sense of Bulgaria's naval past.
