Kableshkov House, Heritage house museum in Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria.

The Kableshkov House is a two-storey house museum in Koprivshtitsa, built in 1845 by master builder Gencho Mladenov. Its symmetrical plan leads from a columned entrance porch with a double staircase through a lower salon to an upper oval salon covered by a carved wooden pseudo-dome. Six rooms and a glazed kiosk with benches complete the layout.

The house was built in 1845 by master builder Gencho Mladenov and later became the home of Todor Kableshkov. He led the April Uprising against Ottoman rule.

The house is a monument of culture and has housed the Todor Kableshkov Museum since 1954. It is managed by the Koprivshtitsa Museums Directorate. The interior features carved wooden ceilings, doors and cupboards, and furniture imported from Vienna.

The house is easy to reach via the main road through the village. Visitors should allow time to look closely at the displays and take in the details of the rooms.

Todor Kableshkov was born in this house, and in 1876 he fired the first shot of the April Uprising at the Kalachev Bridge in central Koprivshtitsa, not here. After the uprising's suppression, the house was looted and its windows, roof tiles and flower pots smashed.
