Statue of Lenin, House of Government, Minsk

The Lenin statue is a 7-meter bronze monument standing before the House of Government building in Minsk's Independence Square. It marks a key point at the city center, positioned directly in front of the main government entrance.

The monument was erected in 1933 during the Soviet era and has shaped the central square's appearance since then. After being removed during World War II, it was restored and returned to its original location.

The monument occupies a prominent location where people regularly pass on their way to government offices or crossing the square. It remains visible evidence of how different historical periods coexist within the city.

The statue sits at the city center and is easily accessible from multiple directions around the square. The open plaza allows you to view it from different angles and approach it from any nearby street.

Sculptor Matvey Manizer created the work alongside architect Iosif Langbard, who designed the adjacent government building. The two structures were conceived as a unified composition and remain visually connected today.
